How to get zero response to your query

I'll skip over the five really less-than-smart things this querier did.

Here's the reason this person will never see my response--which wasn't even a form rejection:

Thank you for your recent email. My inbox is protected by ChoiceMail One, the leader in anti-spam technology. ChoiceMail is holding the message you sent because your email address is not on my list of approved senders.

Please click on the link below. This will take you to a sender verification page. Sender verification is a one-time process which takes only a few seconds. This will let me add you to my list of approved senders and receive your original email.

ChoiceMail sender verification: Verify your identity here

Please be aware that if you do not complete sender verification within 4 days, ChoiceMail will automatically delete your original message.

The only thing I do with these auto-replies is laugh at them and delete them (ok..and post them on my blog).

The REALLY funny thing is this email wasn't sent by the author but by someone PAID by the author. I really wonder what the bill is going to be for this little adventure and how they're going to explain the sent-down-to-the-minors batting average.

I have a verizon email for my business, but I use their Yahoo connection. They have something like this too. One can adjust this through the settings function.

Mostly, it catches mail from dot coms other than ISPs. Those notifications are irritating, but I fill them out. We booksellers always need more cutomers. ...

Me: You're pouting. What's wrong?

Bill E. Goat: Nothing!

Me: I know you better ...

Bill: My email got rejected! I got a personal note from Bill Gates telling me Goat-spam isn't welcome on the internet!

Me: Is that a tear ... Ummm ... so what did you mail? ... or, umm to whom did you send mail.

Bill: I send a "lonely goat-heart" mail to every email address in France ...

Me: So, that French Alpine doe isn't talking to you again?

Bill: Don't you need to feed the donkey?

I've never used one of those spam-filtering services, but I wonder if they let the person using them specify e-mail addresses as acceptable ahead of time.

If so, it would be very wise to enter, let's say just as a randomly chosen example, the e-mail address of an agent one has just queried.

If nothing else this kind of stuff reduces the competition pool for the rest of us.

This is only partially relevant, but Nathan Bransford is holding the Stupendously Ultimate First Line Challenge on his blog. Apparently he didn't learn his lesson from Miss Snark, because he's getting hammered with responses.
