I've been 'retired' (though I'm never really retired since...housework) so really, those things I need a reminder for are those that are outside my normal routine. Thank heaven for a paper planner and an electronic calendar.
It's hot here (was 43.5'C / 110'F where I was on Sat) so no reminder needed. The lovely refreshingly cool water coming out of the shower pipes was incentive enough!
I need to remind myself to look up at the night sky more often.
It is now 4:15 pm PST and the huge full moon is rising over the top of the neighbor's house. It is lovelier than the cheerful Christmas lights that are springing up all over. Soon it will be fully dark with a clear sky. Which means stars. On this first Sunday of Advent, I will gaze up at the stars and rejoice.
Honestly? I have to remind myself to brush my hair. I sleep with it up, and when I'm home (=always), I wear it in a bun to keep it out of my way. The night-bun is only slightly more refined than the day-bun, so if I forget to see to it after brushing my teeth in the morning, I don't notice I've skipped a major grooming task until my evening shower.
I need constantly reminding of one-off events. Like, "did you remember we're going to a wedding on Saturday?" Husband probably assumes I have "selective hearing" but I have so many things to remember day to day (washing! kids! food! school!) those things go into the "worry about it later" filing cabinet until I'm being frantically shaken awake like "DID YOU REMEMBER TO GET THEM A CARD AND GIFT LIKE I ASKED THREE TIMES LAST WEEK??" at 8am on a Saturday, the time when we were meant to leave the house. And both the kids aren't dressed. Ha!
I remind myself to go to work every week, even though I put my health at risk. It's impossible to do my job remotely, and I've had clients come into my office who were unknowingly infected with COVID. We had a client last week tell us halfway through his appt., "Oh, by the way..." WTF And yes, one degree of separation is still, way too close. I've got one more year till retirement. My analogy is like the sailors in the water after the sinking of the Indianapolis. Hundreds have been killed by sharks, and a rescue plane has spotted the survivors. All we (I) have to do is survive long enough to be rescued.

My fitbit keeps telling me I need a reminder to get up and move around, but he's bossy like that.
My dermatologist says that I shouldn't shower every day. For me it works out to not quite every other day, because some days I have to shower twice.

Maybe I need a planner.

I haven't changed a single thing.
