Here's looking at you, Katja!

This is our dear blog friend Katja.
She does not have a pet.
But she sent this photo.

Now the question is: what is on her head?

Post your answer in the comment column below.
Have fun!

Really, Katja, what you and your fiance get up to in your own time...(kinda gives it away wearing his boxers on your head!)

It's a face covering that's got aspirations.

Katje is Dutch for kitten or kitty. Katja is a common nickname in northern Europe. The headgear looks like the kind oil painters would wear along with a smock. Maybe Katja paints oils of kitties.

I can imagine van Gogh wearing it along with a smock while painting farmers in Friesland.

I'm going to be boring this morning and say a crumpled t-shirt...

It could be anything. It matches her eyes beautifully! .... Hmmmm, so Katja is Dutch for Kitty. ;~)

Is that a turtle on your head, or are you just happy to see us?

She's either been reading too much Dav Pilkey or she found the underpants gnomes and took some back for a hat.

It looks like the aprons the vollies (volunteers) wear at Iona Abbey in Scotland.

Perhaps Katja is on that Mediterranean-like island for the summer engaging in some vollie tomfoolery?

Hmmmmm ...
I knew I should have run!

It also looks a bit like the kind of cap worn by sailors many years ago.

I think it’s a tiny t-shirt, perhaps shrunken by an overzealous laundry person

Looks to me like a sleep cap. They can be used as buffers, so your first look in the mirror is not such a shock. Sleep infected eyes have a hard time distinguishing between regular bedhead and rabid bedhead.

Ah, yes, yes (stroking chin). I used to have a similar outfit. Different stripe pattern, but used for the same purpose. Of course, nobody saw me in my outfit, which was precisely the point—not to be seen. What you can’t tell from the picture is that the fabric continues from the tip of Katja’s nose to the tips of her toes. No doubt, she too was conducting … um … story research on the African savanna, and she donned the garb to blend in with the zebras.

I shalt not lie, so I must say that I was merely kidding about my zebra-related activity. Which, I’m sure, comes as a surprise to all who read this comment. Or, I’m now trying to steer away anyone who may be contemplating whether I was really in zebra disguise on the savanna as part of my role as a covert operative—Never mind.

I'm giggling over here. This is rather funny. You guys have a wonderful imagination!

In reality, this is a fad. (I learned this expression only 3 days ago - have I used it correctly?) We ALL wear this these days here in 'my town'. 😆

Okay, it's not true.

The incident wasn't funny, in fact. At the moment the picture was taken, I had only just stopped crying and suddenly a bit of dark humour rose. That's why I'm wearing this on my head.

Clue: I had the most terrible back spasms that you can imagine. I got them every 20 to 30 minutes for a whole day. I had to somehow drop to the floor to find a position that would give me relief. Then I couldn't get up any more - stuck like a beetle on its back.

I was completely immobile on that day. Couldn't even reach the cup of coffee Fiancé had put on the sofa table in front of me, without getting another spasm.

I did make some strange noises while in pain. Ahem. And then I suddenly had to laugh about the whole thing. I couldn't stop thinking about the neighbours and how they had their ears stuck to the walls. They will think we've got a baby now and that it was a home birth. I mean, the spasms... my screaming...

I am wearing that thing on my head because it was the ONLY place I could reach that day. Of course it doesn't belong there!

And Fiancé said it was a picture for Twitter. But I sent it to Janet instead. And I truly thought, a few days later, I had destroyed my reputation completely for sending a weird photo like this to Janet.

But then I AM weird. 😆🤭

Thanks for making me laugh, guys!!

Katja (not a nickname in my case; Russian; no I'm not Russian; not meaning kitty but pure, apparently; in English rather spelled Katya; in German pronounced like 'Cut ya', with the 'u' like Americans and English people in the SOUTH pronounce it (NOT like those in the north!))

Sorry about your back spasms. But that's a cute look. I actually thought it was a homemade shower cap, and was about to look on your site to see if you were selling these...

Katja said...

Ah, no worries, BJ, the spasms are gone - I have wonderful painkillers and stomach liners.

Also, I thought I'd add that those knickers are CLEAN! Straight out of my chest of drawers as I'd asked Fiancé to hand a pair to me.
Yes, he did have to help me put them on but that was IT, AJ. Nothing naughty about it, LOL.
I insist that I wasn't naked in this picture either even though you can't see any other clothes! ;)

Is it one of those hot/cold packs with the beanbag removed. Do tell. I confess to being distracted by the lovely eyes. Get better soon Katja.

Lennon Faris said...

I thought it was a cute beret cap! The comments were also cracking me up though.

Katja, I like that your name means 'pure' - like snow! And I hope you keep feeling better and not worrying the neighbors.

Katja said...

Yes, Lennon, if my name meant SNOW, omg that would be FANTASTIC. I would start loving my own name. 😆❄

I didn't mean to say that it means 'pure' in Russian, by the way. I have no idea if it has a Russian meaning.

Like many names have meanings, somehow, Katja means 'the pure one'. As in clean, raw, or something. It refers to the MIND. Not like washing hands - that would be really annoying cause I have OCD, LOL.

So yeah, I'm SNOW!!! I know that you know I love it.

Kae Ridwyn said...

Katja, I couldn't comment because I couldn't think of what was on your head - my first thought was a beret, but I didn't think it would be...
I'm glad your spasms are gone. They sounded bad! And your love of 'being Snow' reminded me of Coriolanus' favourite line in A BALLAD OF SONGBIRDS AND SNAKES "Snow always lands on top" :)
