Bonjour, M.Chat

These photos are from lovely little hilltown in the south of France called Mougins. I spent the better part of a year working there and in Antibes. Bliss.

Mustache Cat belonged to the man in the Viking hat. He was also the town’s mayor–– I always thought he and his cat resembled each other. Boy I wish I remembered his name.

The night of the Viking hat was my 30th birthday. They threw me a block party birthday.

What a cute cat! He looks very relaxed.

All I can think of with the Viking hat is Bugs Bunny's What's Opera, Doc?

What a lovely, lovely life you must lead, OP! A birthday celebrated with a block party. Including a cat. And a man with a Viking hat. Who's the town mayor. In the south of France!

Something struck me, besides that the cat and the man resemble each other. (Ha! Glad you mentioned that.) It's the nasturtium behind the man. I have a few nasturtiums in the garden, but they're not doing as well. And the juxtaposition with the stone wall--beautiful! I'm reminded that different people notice and take away different things though they're viewing the same photo. And that the same thing happens when reading a book.

Now, if the cat would wear the hat...I'd probably see the resemblance, but that is a whole different story.

First off, all the photos of kitties is a bit of a problem for me because I want every one of them. Many of the puppies too. I also want the kitties in the zoo except for the fishing cats who don't appear to like people.

You can never have too many kitties, but too little time, too little space, and too little money.

Amy's comment, "...different people notice and take away different things..." is so true. When watching TV or movies, I notice the trim, especially in craftsman houses. I've been doing too much work on home improvement. Crown molding, new doors, window and door trim. No longer do I fear for the victims in horror movies if they live in homes with really attractive trim.

That must have been some party. Mustache Cat has a hang-dog look ans a toothpaste smear covering half of his mustache.

and a toothpaste smear.

I can't say anything about the hat because I once won a motorcycle helmet with real Texas Longhorn horns during a Houston Hurricane party.

The perfect spot, with the perfect cat, for a long sit in the sunshine.

Growing up my cousin lived for many years in France, so when she returned as a teen to Oz she was a fluent French speaker. She named her cat Chat, commonly called Chat puss.

Love the cat! But it was Mister Furkles who made me snort just now: "No longer do I fear for the victims in horror movies if they live in homes with really attractive trim." Ha!
