Oh hey, I was right! Knew it looked familiar, just a different angle than I'm used to seeing. (My in-laws have a large shot of this site framed at their house. One of these days I'll tack a little pirate ship sailing out from behind onto the glass.)
If you had a large enough telephoto lens and were willing to lie on you stomach, I know a spot like that. It is on the edge of Honeymoon Island, just north of Clearwater Beach.
If you looked at it with the naked eye it would be a lot smaller.
I'm on the coast about a hundred miles north. It is a raw, majestic beauty here. Green and damp and fierce. I've only seen those rocks while sailing however. Mostly on a tall ship, but several years ago I was shipwrecked on a partially submerged trimaran that began breaking apart near the aptly named Cape Disappointment. We were rescued by the Coast Guard in sight of those rocks.
OH! I knew this right away, even though I'm late to the discussion as usual. A friend used to live just outside of Portland, OR and she posted pics of these on her blog a few times over the years. Very distinctive.
I can almost hear the waves crashing and the cries of shore birds. A beach is such a great place to contemplate story ideas and other things greater than yourself.

It reminds me of Big Sur, but it isn't.
I'm gonna say the beach from the end of Planet of the Apes ("you finally really did it! you maniacs!"). It looks cinematic to me.
My first thought was the Oregon beach from The Goonies, but that's not right. Still better than the friggin snow I just shoveled.
