Happy Sunday!

Dweezil in the snow

How's your weather?
I moved the plants from beside the windows. The weatherwarts say snow is coming!

Dweezil is an awesomely hairy dog! I love him.

We had rain overnight, snow for a couple hours this morning, back to rain but it's now getting froggy. Welcome to all four seasons in a day here in SE Michigan.

Guess we're not getting our tree today.

Someone please rescue this lion from the snow. Thank you.

I don't live in a land that is kind to Newfies, that is one of the few things I don't like about life in Fla.

There might be a cold front slumping our way, but right now a big clump of hot tropical moisture has been pulled into place. Feels like it is in the mid eighties with a blanket of humidity on top of it.

So cute! I'm writing in my garden while the kitties and pups nap in the sun.

My headache tells me the weather is about to change (apparently I'm a human barometer) but on this last day of vacation, we're enjoying the warm weather.

I love Dweezil! Excellent picture.

Rain in Northern CA (at last!). Here's hoping fire season is officially over.

Wow, Dweezil is one handsome, hairy beast! What a fabulous mane.

Dweezil is clearly prepared for the weather!

We are not. It's rainy in San Francisco, which is normally cause for celebration, but not on the busiest travel day of the year.
Kid #1 is flying back to Omaha, NE, and it's looking ugly at the airport :-(

Dweezil - I wish you many happy romps in the snow.

We're waiting for snow in the White Mountains, stocked up on supplies for us and the old folks, and the cats of course. The sky looks like it means business. This is ski country so snow is something to celebrate. We have our passes and are ready to get out there.

Snow country here too, in Minnesota. The snow (and sleet and rain and ice pellets) caused cancellation of meals with out of town family.

Love the look of Dweezil in the snow. My sister sent videos of stray kitties at a farm that are in need of a home. Looking at those little fluffballs, I'm thinking it's time to become a pet owner again.

Oh, Dweezil, I love you. So handsome!

The weather here at the sanctuary (middle GA) is my version of Perfect with a capital P. Sunny, brilliant blue sky, high 60s with a bit of a breeze. All around excellent for the horses. And no bugs.

I live in the Southern Tier of NY, near the PA border. It's been freezing rain all day so far. The snow is supposed to begin any time now and not stop until Monday night around 9. A friend in Rome (NY) said they don't have ice but they do have 8" of snow and it's still coming down. My grandson is supposed to fly back to Jacksonville University tonight. If the flight actually takes off, I hope they make it.

Dweezil is a mighty snow dog!

We're far enough south in Wisconsin that the bad weather has mostly been rain and high winds. Snow showers are falling now but nothing is sticking. Now that we've bought a snowblower, I expect very little snowfall all season.

Happy Rosa Parks Day, everyone.

Claire I forgot about airports. Hoping for safe travels for Kid #1.

Dweezil looks right at home in the snow!

I've been partially felled by a cold (I think?) since Wednesday night/Thursday, such that I even left work early yesterday, but Sundays are puppy playdate days, and the prospect of being snowed in with a not-exercised-since-Thursday puppy was the kind of horror that even I don't write. So we had our playdate early, right as the snow was starting, and we got a good three inches at the dog park. It seems to have lulled for now, though, my car isn't even really covered. Both colleges have already canceled classes for tomorrow, though they also opened the dorms early for students returning from holiday travel.

I finished the draft of my NaNoWriMo novel yesterday at a shade over 75k words. I'm going to let it sit for a bit, maybe write a short story or so in the meanwhile, and then reread it, edit it, reread it, edit it......and write a query letter.

Like Kitty , I'm in upstate NY. Yeah, the weather pretty much sucks across the state, from Albany to . . . well, whatever. We're hoping for better sometime in the next few months (hey, I can always dream).

I've been living in this general area for 44 years and I do seem to remember winters were less harsh years back. Maybe it was a localized, late 90s and early 2000s phenomenon (the term El Nino comes to mind), but I seem to remember several days in the 60s and even above peppered through the winter months. My wife took my newborn son for walks on the Erie Canal in December 2006. Mid 40s and 50s, and I don't see a return to those temps until April at least (hope I'm wrong on that one!).

So yeah, climate conundrums. The result of global warming? I'm no scientist and don't profess to have an idea, and maybe I'm just older now, but paradoxically, it sure seems a lot colder now.

Jennifer Donahue , congrats on that accomplishment. I can be a workaholic at times and I'm in awe! Never did 75K in a month. Hope it turns into something huge for you!

Snow, snow, sleet, rain, snow, snow, drifting snow, blowing snow, more snow. But people are surfing in Duluth harbor, so there's that.

It rained a LOT here on Thanksgiving Day, with flash floods in my area and snow in higher elevations [read: over 1500 feet]. Which, here in SoCal where snow plows are only stored at elevations over 5000 feet, meant a 7-hour traffic backup and CHP escorts on the roads into Los Angeles. Our neighbors were out in that. Glad I stayed home.

It's currently 60 degrees [bbbrrrrrrr] and hubby and kids are outside setting up our holiday decorations. One of the perks of living in SoCal is we get to complain loudly about the weather and we basically have no idea what "real weather" is.

Congrats Jennifer!

Way to go winning Nano, Jennifer. That's an IMPRESSIVE number. I was on a healthy roll until Thanksgiving hit and 35 people showed up at our house. Last of family flew back to Florida at 5 o'clock this afternoon.

I've written 42 words since Wednesday crushed me.

I'm determined to flip over the sand timer and get going again. You can be my role model for the night.

Keep writing, y'all.

As Californians visiting New York, we delighted in the snow that came down today, taking photos and videos and acting completely like, well, Californians. I used the opportunity to get a bunch of writing done so that was a another plus. https://twitter.com/LauraStegman/status/1201227104211345408?s=19

Most of our holiday snow has melted. Today we had sunshine and no wind. It got up above freezing, so I was able to finally get out and ride for the first time in days. Woo hoo!

I usually ride about an hour a day, depending on the weather. If it's actively precipitating, or the wind blows the saddle pad off before I can get the saddle on, I don't ride. We're supposed to have two more days of weather like today, so fingers are crossed.

Dweezil has a mane! Now I love him even more!

We have cold here and damp. Sun has finally come out today. Still not drying my washing though.

Love the name Dweezil - what a handsome pooch.

We had snow in the hills here last night (and it's summer!!). Went from tops of 39'C/102'F to 12'C/54'F in just a couple of days.
