Bwahahaha!! I love this whole thing! Harper saving Ramona and Frankenhoover. Perfect name for a vicious, animal eating machine. I'll have to remember that when Mr. Big, Bad and Blue runs for the other room next time I run mine.
Fifteen years and fifteen pounds (on Harper) later, if a dog is in the house Ramona retreats to her boudoir and Harper is sent to sit on the stairs and guard. He does it, twitching with anxiety.
Then as a reward he is allowed to lick her ears.
The floors are wide pine boards. The house was handmade by us when we were young.
Such a fierce little fellow. All but one of ours run even before the Frankenhoover is started. The Troubled One hits that ignore button that cats are born with.
Those floors definitely did not come our of Homey Depot.

I love kittens.
I know this is about the two precious kittens, but I'm intrigued with that wide-planked wood floor. OP's home must be fabulously old.
What a brave kitten!
I know those kitties! ;)

Fierce cuteness or cute fierceness? Either way, darling kitty!
I look at cleaning supplies the same way.
We once had a dog who loved the vacuum. Gixer would lie in the way when we vacuumed until he'd been vacuumed all over :)
They're adorable and I love how he protects her.
