Equal time for the canine friends

This is Flora. She mostly distracts me from writing by doing silly things like rolling around on her back with her paws in the air (we have a song about that) or poking me with her snout as a reminder that I should be giving her T-R-E-A-T-S. She has not yet learned to spell. She is probably disappointed because she is not the star of the humorous mystery novels starring a talking Chihuahua, which I wrote with my friend, Curt Colbert, under the the pen name Waverly Curtis. Flora is part Chihuahua but the rest is a mystery..

Hi, Flora! Sounds like you have a good life. And that is one happy pic.

I think Flora might be a Chihuabat. The upside down pose, the tufted, pointy ears, and big dark eyes give it away.

What a lovely pup.

her little faaaaaaaaace! It's hard to get anything done with inverted canine cuteness.

Though pricey, I've had a few friends lately do the doggie DNA test on their mixes. It can be more than for fun; one of the tests checks a bunch of genetic markers for possible problems, and the company tries to make sure you fully understand what it might/might not mean for your dog (one of my friends discovered her dog had a gene that would make him particularly sensitive to a type of tick medicine?)

Looks like maybe some Papillion in there!

Flora looks like a lively and entertaining roommate. Please pass on a belly rub.

Oh, my goodness...! Look at that floofy tail. She's darling. We have three Chi-mixes, and a few big dog mixes. It's so great to see all the animal lovers here.

Hi, Flora, you upside-down cutie!

I looked up Waverly's Chihuahu mystery series and it sounds like my kind of read. Three woofs for talking animals! :-)

Flora obviously knows how cute she is in that pose. It would be very distracting and not conducive to writing at all!

Flora needs to star in some kind of series. She's a charmer!

I will admit that I have had some wonderful pure bled dogs, but my favorites have been mutts. The personality of a mutt is unique and beautiful. Flora is one of those.

Perfect timing for this post as Flora was forlorn because I was in the hospital for five days (routine procedure that turned into something far more serious--story of my life recently). She will certainly demand her own series after that indignity.

I think she is trying to inspire you to start a new series. I love her pose! And I have the same problem with my two cats. We share a room -- my office is their playroom, and they sit behind me staring, or take turns with the pitiful meows, or jump up on my desk and circle my computer. They are outraged when I throw them out and shut the door!
