post conference crash

I'm behind on just about everything, including reading contest entries, and writing blog posts.

To make up for that dreadful state of affairs:

Ramona!

Kitty! I want.

Aw, who needs a blog post to read when there’s a pretty kitty’s like Ramona to admire?
Oops, I fell for your tricks of distraction yet again. Good luck getting through that to-do list, Janet.

oh no! All for going to a conference? Yikes. But the kitty distraction works very well. hm....maybe too well. I'm with E.M.

Ramona says you can't have her.
She's mine, all mine, and sleeps in my arms every night.

Ramona contemplating her nine future lives...

Amazon is giving away 9 free Kindle books today for World Book Day. Just go to Amazon books and search for World Book Day.
I did, of course, download all of them!

Sharyn, she’s a gorgeous cat. I bet she is a fabulous writing partner

Yay for Sharyn! Ramona is adorable, and what a great photo!

As I was adoring little Ramona (and finding myself thinking things like, Aaaw, she so cute, and I wanna hug her), I was reminded of the YouTube video by the woman who loves cats. (Searching "woman who loves cats dating video" got me there.) It still makes me laugh. (It's okay to laugh--check out her follow-up video.) Have a great day, everyone! And Sharyn, please give Ramona a little hug from me.

I am in a crappy motel room, it is six a.m. and I had a less than stellar night of sleep, due to freeway noise, light coming in under the inadequate curtains, imagining bedbugs. Powered up the computer and see this little angel. And it reminded me...

I was fourteen and it was going to be jeans and tee shirt day at school. My friend's mother, tasked with taking us shopping, took us to a drug store, where there was but a single rack of tee shirts. We wanted matching shirts (because we were fourteen), and we wanted to look cool.

We found our shirts, and were happy with them. I showed my parents. My Dad put his foot down. "You are not wearing that shirt to school tomorrow." I think I cried and stomped and told him he was being ridiculous. What on earth could be wrong with a shirt that had a picture of an adorable kitty and a caption,

"EVERYBODY NEEDS A LITTLE"

Sharyn: at first I thought your comment said, "Amazon is giving away 9 free Kittens..." For a blissful second, there were 9 kittens in my virtual cart. And they all looked like Ramona.

I think your Dad was very wise, Rosanna :-)

Thanks for sharing a charming photo, Janet, and good luck catching up!

Awwwww.

Rosanna, when I was that age, I wouldn't have understood your dad's problem either.

This kitty is all we really need. And she's called Ramona? Even better.

:)

Rosanna, as I started to read your comment about the creepy motel room (I'll be there tonight, two down from you), I was thinking you should start writing a story RIGHT NOW! I'm already hooked.

And then you went and told a terrific kitty story RIGHT NOW anyway.

I love this place!

Good luck catching up, Janet!

Rosanna - hilarious!

John, if you want to blend in tonight make sure to bring your smokes, plan to hang out leaning over the railing, and don't guzzle one of those wimpy 12 oz beers or you'll be called names.

Thanks all for enjoying my kitty story. Addendum to it: my Dad called my friend's mother, who thought he was being overly analytical about the messaging. He told her to ask her sixteen year old son if he thought his sister should wear the shirt. He said, "no way!"

9 free kittens is know as a Crazy Cat Lady Starter Kit.

There's a story here that a woman came back to her unlock car at Walmart to find two kittens in it.
I never lock my car at Walmart just in case lightening strikes again.

Aww... Ramona is gorgeous. She looks like my Frankie did when she was a kitten, just friendlier.

Rosanna, I remember those freeway motel rooms when I had to travel. I hated being away from my family but I did like the alone time to write.
I'm a dog person but meow to Ramona, she's gives me 'paws', to remember my sweet Misty of many years ago. A cat like a dog.
