I'm another sticking my hand up to admit being clueless over the footy.
I think I may have made a reference to American "football" in my story/caption/thing, but I'm sure it was an accident if I did. I was aware of the game, but I was told last night who won it just so I wouldn't look stupid at work this morning. Well, at least it helps... :)
I almost went with my original Twitter comment when Janet posted this picture there: "I can't decide if this is a romance or a thriller..." But I didn't. Of the ones that tickled Janet's funny fin this weekend, I have to go with 2Ns, because that's classic Dad humor, and Dad humor wins every time. ;)

Oh! What fun... I snagged a mention. I actually spelled "Kiss" as "Kish" on purpose. I was trying to sound like a besotted kitten whose speech was slurred with the passion of love. I guess something got lost in the translation. HA!

Loved 2Ns but really thought Melanie's was clever. I enjoyed all of the finalists and many not selected. These are so much fun. Good for a laugh at end of week. Many of them made me chuckle.
I need a good chuckle today. Home sick- shingles with a side of cold just for kicks and giggles. Was supposed to be a vacation day but nothing doing. Ick!

Thanks for all your votes! We have a snowday for just about everyone here in the Seattle area with 5 to 16 inches dumping last night. We don't deal with this very often (especially when there is no power). So I'm going to stalk this blog, drink coffee, read books and hi-burrr-nate the day away. My cats are going to hi-purrr-nate...

Mark's - because every time I read any of JR's admonishments to us, subconsciously I feel the contradictory effect of kitten claws and fur encircle my brain rather than a sharks multilayered rows of teeth piercing my hopes. Shhhh, don't tell her that...
I was all over Michael Seese and Carrie Rubin like a defensive tackle on a quarterback. But I'm sensing that analogy will carry all the excitement of a fair catch in this community.
They only play the football game to interrupt the commercials on occasion.
OT: Today, my mail carrier reminded me how timely Janet's posts are. Cover of Writer's Digest: "Write & Sell Short Stories." It includes this gem that many of us might have written: "Say More with Less: How to Master Flash Fiction." Ironically, it's the longest article in the magazine. (Sorry, there's a little alternative truth in that sentence to arrive at irony.)
John: I'm looking forward to that issue in my mailbox any moment. I certainly need tips on the latter part (selling), though I wouldn't object to pointers on the former (writing). :) Flash fiction? What's that? Anyone here ever try to write flash fiction? ;)
I am glad my Queen gets to pick. If it was up to me, I would resort to the blindfold and dartboard technique. Of course my sensibilities are not at their best today. It is not entirely about the epic fail of the Falcons either. Damn, that was horrible.

So many great ones, but I loved Carrie's strangulation research the best. It fits so well with the patient expression of the kitten on the left.
All the finalists are great. My vote goes to Michael Seese.
I love Kate's "newbie mewies". That's the only opinion I'm going to give here. It's late. No one will see it, anyway.
