That's a dog primed for snuzzling (snuggle-nuzzling). Knee surgery is rough, I've heard, especially keeping them calm enough afterwards. I hope it went well!
Arya is our expensive pup...from mass destruction as a puppy (tearing up flooring! Eating electronics!) to blowing out both her knees over the last year and a half. But seeing her run pain free, ears and tongue flapping in the wind, makes any thoughts of money disappear.
What a great sleeper. Hope her knees continue to heal!
I've always wondered why dogs and babies (or anything fuzzy) look so adorable in these sorts of pics... also sneezing and yawning. With grown-up humans, it's so opposite.
What's that chemical in turkey again? Looks someone may have snuck a few scraps from the platter. Or maybe Arya just finished watching the marathon showing of "A Christmas Story" on TBS and is dreaming about the escapades of the Bumpus hounds? She looks mighty comfortable. I hope she recovered fully from her knee surgery. Plus, I love her name. Arya is my favorite character in GoT.
Manda, Arya is adorable. I love the snout shot. I hope she heals well.
I'm listening to audio book The Birth of Classical Europe- From Troy to Augustine by Simon Price and Peter Thonemann. I'm not a history buff and if I had to read it I would have probably stopped but the audio version holds my attention. It's absolutely fascinating how intricately mixed the East and West are. The authors consider how the ancients viewed their own history. One fact that fascinates me is up until the late 19th C. there was a mosque on the acropolis in Athens. Another is the Alexandrian scholars in the 3rd century BC catalogued greek texts by genre.
Re "expensive pup": Here's my public service announcement.
All of you with pets or thinking about getting a pet, please get pet insurance while they are still puppies or kittens. Our original vet told us that it was a waste of money so we didn't get it. BIG mistake. By the time we thought of it, our dog had pre-existing medical conditions. It adds up over the years...
Arya's face makes me want to squish it, and make ridiculous baby talk noises - except - the face is already squished. I'll just go with the baby talk. Wook. Wook at it.
Either way, she's a big ole hunk of lovable doggie. Here's running full speed and pain free! She deserves our adoration.
Arya has healed up well and has nearly regained all the lost muscle. She is back at it with Ivy (second dog), poking our cats, Eve and Sparta and has made fast friends with our one year old. Especially at mealtimes!
Cynthia - she's a lab.
Claire - Arya is also my hubby's favorite and I lost the coin toss. Not that I can see her as anything other than an Arya now.
Hi Manda - your husband has great taste in names :-) But sorry you lost the coin toss. When it came time for our family of four to name our second dog, it turned into quite the wrestling match. Eventually we came up with Zazu (for Zazu Pitts), but my husband just couldn't stick with that and she became Zuzu . And now, as you say, we can't see her as anything other than a Zuzu.

Love the name and the chill expression. Hope she is recovering well! Knee surgery can't be fun for a pup. :(
Awe, rest well baby.
Awww, sweet pup. Hope she gets to feeling more energetic soon.

For some reason I expected to see a photo of a cat jumping out of a bag? meh.

Aww, smushy face! I hope the knee is all better.
French,I'd been thinking the same thing. The cat is out of the bag!
I know how you feel, Arya. It's before 10 am here, and that's about all I'm good for! :) I hope you recover swiftly and painlessly.
Is that a faceless man or a frustrated Stark? I know. I can't help myself. Yet, another precious pooch of the Reef.
Aww, sweet pup! Well, I should go make some coffee, lest I share her expression at my early meetings.

I hope you feel much better soon, Arya! The v-e-t probably gave you tranquilizers. Soon you'll be back to tearing up the floor.

I know a party animal when I see one!

A dog is adorable. A dog has a very squishy face.
EM, my mind went there as well.
Jumping on the 'awww! Hope she heals well' bandwagon.
Missing having a puppy, now.
Oh, Arya, I've had days like that. Recently, in fact.
Manda, it's never fun when they're in pain. All the money it costs to make them feel better is worth it. You're taking great care of that girl.
Awwww, what a great face. Hope Arya's fully recovered by now :D

She looks totally zonked, very much like me some days. However, UNLIKE me, she looks sweet and cute while zonked. Hope she is recovering well.
I too hope Arya has or is recovering. I hope she recovers enough to find joy in things other than slobbering on the couch.
I was hoping today would be a day with baby somethings and a caption about the Queen turning over a new leaf.
Aw, what a sweety. It's amazing how dogs look gorgeous sleeping like that (with their face mushed up), but not so much people.
I hope Arya's making a full recovery.
Craig, I also thought that would be today's post!
Cute baby! What kind is she?

Glad to hear she's recovered nicely.
Move back. That dog's in a huntin' frenzy.
Seriously, great shot. Makes me want to cuddle up and nap with her.
I'm glad she's recovering well. It's so hard when our fur babies get sick.
I love the melting face shot. I wouldn't want a melty dog, but I have a soft spot in my heart for them.

What a sweetheart! And I love the name Arya. Glad she's all healed up, Manda!
QOTKU—Congrats on your new leaf :)
Dena and Manda You both have beautiful pups.
Pretty sure I looked just like that after my knee surgery. Manda, I'm glad to hear Arya is healing and recovering well.
