Query: OMG a Request was in my spam folder!

OMG. I have a partial request that came in over a week ago. Is it too late to send it? Is she going to think I'm irresponsible or an idiot for not checking my spam folder?

No
No

Stuff happens. Just send the partial. You might include the phrase "I'm sorry to be late in replying, my spam folder thought you were delicious."

Check your spam folder daily.

It's good practice for obsessing over your Amazon sales rank.

Running an inbox word search on "query" also helps catch mis-filed stragglers. It is also a constant reminder of how many you have sent out and a chance to revisit the list. A neurotic win-win . . .

Spam folders are vicious things. I learned to regularly check mine the day it ate a mail from my boss.

After years of receiving emails from her, Yahoo decided my aunt's emails were spam. Not the aunt who sends fwds, either. It was very strange.

Wow. You mean I'm not the only one who does that?

The first chapter of my novel has a character named Viagra - and when I had to embed it in query letters, it sometimes went into AGENTS' spam folders! I tried very hard to explain this in advance, but it almost always led to: REJECTION.
