Great advice, and makes me wonder why we listen to all that writing advice, out there, that makes us rethink our gut feelings. Some rules are crap, but when new to this writing gig, we have to follow the rules (we think). I think this author's waking up scene is a fantastic start. I want to know what happens next, which is what you want any reader to want. Nancy Lee Badger
