Well, good morning to you too!

I'm at Bouchercon with 3000 other rabid mystery fans, and pretty much not thinking about anything other than books, booze, and trying to find out who decided Albany was a good location for a conference.

This morning I had a couple extra minutes before my first breakfast meeting (early breakfast meeting, breakfast meeting, brunch meeting--rack 'em and stack 'em!)

I thought I'd check in on the outside world to see what was going on.

Here's what I found when I googled the New York Times

Turns out quite a few things changed while I've been away!

(check the right side of the image. It's the Wikipedia listing for the NYT---or was until they saw the "edit")

OMG. Unbelievable.

Do you think my pet rabbit counts as a farm animal?

Oink, moo, cackle, whinny, whinny , whinny, PETA please release the farm animals from the basement and barns of the NYT.

Hey, I just had a thought, too bad sharks aren't farm animals, Janet could supplement her income and come up with a great memoir. At least she could say she made the front page of the NYT.

Where do I go to subscribe?

Because in Albany you can focus on the books, the writers, agents, and the stories. It's a test run to see if Bouchercon can go to Amarillo or Fargo.

Dear Ms Reid

I'd always suspected something along these lines. Oui, oui, oui, all the way home.

And my college students always crab about why I won't let them use Wikipedia as a source. Thanks for the fun example.

I vote for Amarillo!

And the Wikipedia edit squad strikes again. I will be cleaning my monitor now, thank you very much.

Janet in Albany (...Albany?) the New York Times into bestiality (!) - have I been gone that long?

I had to read that twice because I hadn't had enough coffee.

I'm sure even the NY Times employees would laugh at that!
