I'm in Sugar Land Texas to torment a lovely group of writers today and tomorrow. The Ever Fabulous Stephanie Evans picked me up at the Houston airport yesterday and whisked me off in her very spiffy Mini Cooper!
This is across the street from where we stopped for lunch at Good Company BBQ
If you'd told me I'd love a place where the seating is picnic tables off the parking lot, two days ago I would have laughed! Today, I'm a devout believer. This place is GREAT!
And then we drove by Stephanie's sister's house.
I guess they knew I was coming!

I'm sorry to hear about your death 107 years ago. I hope it wasn't too painful.
Darn! I can't believe I'm going to miss meeting the Shark herself. I'm stuck in Dallas. Have fun swimming with the fishes.
Welcome to Texas.
If there's barbecue involved, you'd be surprised what folks around here will use for seating. ;-)
Josin does not lie. Glad you made it with all fins intact.
Q: Why did the chicken cross the road?
A: To prove to the armadillos it can be done.
But I think this armadillo can cross roads just fine on its own...
Nice! I haven't been to Texas for a couple of years, but it's great. Fantastic weather, & the people are the sweetest. Have fun!
I've eaten armadillo...
but,
Not the one's with horns.
That's like a jackalope and an armadillo walked into a big pile of gamma radiation -- I guess that would be a jackadillo, but that just sounds WAY dirty.
Like they say, everything's bigger in Texas.
Gladly you were happily reincarnated into a shark this life, though.
I believe I've eaten a po' boy sandwich in that very restaurant on those very benches.
BBQ and family make Texas great. This is not to be confused with BBQ'ing family, which makes one of its neighboring states scary.
Oh goodness, how I love a good pun! And a good barbecue...and a good long-horned armadillo...
Oh, can't believe I missed meeting you in person...are you at a conference in TX?
