This morning was gray and windy but there wasn't much rain. All the bodegas on our block are open, and it's actually pretty nice. The subway isn't running so pretty much everyone is at home. It's much quieter than normal --the everpresent subterranean rumble is missing, as is the noise of traffic and busy pedestrians. This is normally a pretty quiet section of Brooklyn, and today it's even quieter.
But Sandy's coming! It's hard to tell from the still photo above.

Batten down the hatches! Good luck! So far here, we have all the rain, and very little wind. It's all changing, though.
