Thank you for the link....it is nice to know that other writers slog through the same swamp. Now I'm off to write....instead of drinking that glass of wine.
This was depressing to me. I am that middle-aged writer with the time-sucking job and the family, except there's no agent to tell me someone's interested. All I have is the yearning. And the stories.
Makes me feel better and worse. But I think more people should know that that story actually qualifies as a success story.
It's a cycle of sadness and frustration, and the whole thing is like trying to catch a bird with your bare hands. Probably gonna fly away before you even get close, but maybe, if you keep trying, someday you'll get close enough to get pooped on.

A writer is somebody for whom writing is more difficult than it is for other people. - Thomas Mann
I'm not sure if I should stand up and cheer, or fall down and cry.
Yes. Thank you for the link.

It's amazing how something can be both inspiring and incredibly bleak at once.

yep, that was miserable. Back to my book...
I try to avoid the depressing aspect by telling myself I don't mind so much if I'm not a successful author because, hey, I love to write!
