I can't believe I'd never heard this story before. Way to go, New Yorkers. Now please excuse me. There's something in both of my eyes.

I'm with Laura. So many people came together that day. So many people we'll never even hear about. I'm so glad I now know this story. Off to bawl like a baby...

Beautiful video--gives me a lot of hope for the goodness of humanity. My favorite line: "Never go through life saying you 'should have.'"

As Laura said, I can't believe I never heard this amazing story until now.

Thank you.

With all the stories to have come out of 9/11 why hasn't this one been showcased more frequently? Every one of those captains / boat operators deserves a medal.

This is so powerful. Even all these years later, we can all be taken back to that morning and the horror of it. These people were able to make a difference. That's an amazing thing. Thanks for posting this.

Amazing. Over 500,000 people in about 9 hours -? Truly amazing. And a lot of very hard work. Heroes indeed.

Like Laura, I'm surprised I've never heard of this story before. And like Laura, I seem to have something in both eyes.
