I'm going to take a couple days now for the holiday week.
No work, just the occasional tweet or blog post, no replying to queries or email. I'll be reading when I'm not going for a train ride.
Man, that's a funny-looking shark. A great white polar shark, with the clawed fins option, the fur-ball upgrade, and the air-breathing accessory package?

You've given so much to the writers who follow this blog and Query Shark; you definitely deserve the time off. I was waiting for a Christmas Query Shark post for this, but I'll post it here. Sharkifying carols has become my own mini-tradition since I was blessed by the discovery of both your blogs, so in the spirit of "Oh, Christmas Shark" and "You're a Mean One, Mr. Fins", I give you:
DASHING THROUGH THE REEF
Dashing through the reef With a query for a book. I Sent it to the Shark, But it didn't have a hook.
The grammar was a mess; The format needed work. Forgot about the plot and voice, And the character was a jerk.
Oh... Query Shark, Query Shark Gave me a form reject Shredded all my golden words Snark I did not expect.
Query Shark, Query Shark I thought I could write. But now I know, I’ve far to go. Next time I’ll get it right.
You've helped a lot of us "get it right", Janet, and for that, I say Thank You.
Thanks for another year of 'The Great Blog'... and remember, if your desire is for a White Christmas... I'm your 'hook-up'! Here in Alaska we got tons of the white stuff sittin' around doin' nothin'... Hello FedEx!
