In the case of Grandma for dinner it would depend on context. If this is the Big Bad Wolf of Little Red Riding Hood fame speaking to some of his mates I believe the first version is correct.
This gem has been making the rounds on Facebook today. Creating a new appreciation for punctuation. By the way, my 13-year-old granddaughter and her classmates are expected to edit their writing homework assignments. It's a realistic expectation of kids with computers.
Funny. A writer friend and I were nerding out (and laughing) over something she'd read recently. Apparently in the newspaper story, someone had slipped into a comma and died. I wonder what that's like?

I use this in my classes. I tell my students: "there is only one comma between cookies and cannibalism."
That nearly made me spit coffee. Love it.
Such a great picture and statement. Commas really can save lives. I also loved the other one Tawna had on her blog about the Oxford comma.
Good example!
Actually, I preferred it without the comma.
Oh, how I love this! I would count the ways, but I'm too busy laughing!

Actually, my favorite opening line ever is
"Life hasn't been the same since we ate Grandma."
The novel is "Soupe du Jour" by Natala De La Fere
I'd watch out for Grandma. I understand she eats, shoots, and leaves.

LOL! This is great. I need to go find her blog.
Yeah that's going up on my library office door.
