Awesome Aussies!

They've nominated THE PERICLES COMMISSION for the Ned Kelly Award!

I've always wanted to visit Australia. Now I have a legitimate business reason to do so! I wonder if they'll let a shark swim through the Panama Canal?

Congratulations to Gary Corby! However, I must admit, that I do not understand the swimming shark comment.

My wife and I almost never read the same books, but we both loved PERICLES COMMISSION. Well done, Gary!

Wohoo! I keep forgetting that I bought this and have it in my "comfort" drawer for when I need something really special. Maybe today is the day to break it out. Congrats, Gary!

Congratulations to Gary and his lovely agent (also remebering the pre-publication saga).
I agree with Sarah W -- it's a great story and I'mm looking forward to book 2).
With regard to the shark reference, see "the query shark" in the sidebar.

Thank you everyone! And Pierre is right, I wouldn't be here if it weren't for Janet, and all the fine people at FinePrint who work behind the scenes, and many friends who've helped me with critiques and research, and some terrific editors, and...just piles of support from lots of people.

Congratulations, Gary!
P.S. Aren't sharks always welcomed in Australia? I bet you'd feel like home :)

It's not getting through the Panama Canal you have to worry about. You know that we eat shark over here, don't you. When the sharks aren't eating us.

Come on over. We're a nice bunch, although some of us have a weird sense of humor.

Congrats Gary.

Fantabulous book, clever man, jealous as hell, next year for sure, ha ha.
Janet - You're one shark who will be very welcome in Oz. I'd offer a bed if I had one, but you probably won't make it to Brisbane. Hope you enjoy the trip and tell the folk back home we don't have too many kangaroos roaming the streets.

I'm so looking forward to reading this book. It's been on my Wishlist for ages!

And Australia rules. Not that I'm biased or anything ^_^

Congrats to you and Gary and all the team at FPL. Gary can certainly write a fabulous story!

We'd love to have you in Australia. Our sharks are very friendly. And we promise not to force feed you Vegemite. We'll even bake a pavlova for you.
