If you annoy me, I'm less likely to do what you want

This was the subject line in an email today: Secure Your 2011 Foothold in the Trade Book Publishing Market With (company) information

Well, at least they didn't say toe-hold, but foothold??

Maybe I read that without enough coffee, or without my sense of humor nailed to my noggin, but sheesh.

You want me to buy something that implies I'm a raw beginner?  Not bloody likely.

Foothold could imply being out on a ledge? The next line should have had something about "jumping in"

Every now and then something like that rubs me the wrong way, too.

Well yes, it seems to be an allusion to rockclimbing, but it's pretty silly of them to market their services to someone who's already got a pretty good grasp on and place in the industry. (Of course, it's likely sent out to a very wide net of people by a spambot, but sheesh.)

It must be the week for it. I've had some people trying to sign me up for energy healing courses. I was also bullied on twitter about not wanting to better myself in the field of energy healing. Not cool.
