You know it's going to be a GREAT conference!

When they meet you at the airport with a sign!

That's Terri Molina from the Desert Rose Conference in Scottsdale last weekend. She's one of the many volunteers who made it a terrific event!

LOL And if you didn't have a great time with Terri, I would have been wondering what alternate universe you'd fallen into.

Terri's a cool lady! We miss her here in Houston.

Janet, I used to hold up a lot of signs like that (without the shark) at JFK when I worked as a chauffeur. Once I was picking up Mr. Broccoli, top exec for the James Bond movies, I think. The sign just said, "Broccoli." Someone coming off the plane said to me, "I don't like broccoli, but do you have any asparagus?" There was no confusion with you, I'm sure.

They look like a fun group! I might have to go there next year. This is what makes all the yuck of writing fun and worth it to me. Good people and good times.

This is completely unrelated to your post, but wanted to tell you that I just finished Kennedy Foster's All Roads Lead Me Back to You, after wanting it since you first mentioned aquiring it. It's the best book I've read in a long, long time (Jack Reacher, excepting). I'm so grateful to have found it! And you can bet I'll be blogging/facebooking about it.

It was an honor for me as a debut novelist to meet the legendary Janet Reid. The Query Shark is the first blog I found on the Internet when I started searching for information about how to pitch to agents. I still go to school there.:)

Thank you Janet for your blogs and for attending the conference! You have contributed significantly to my personal understanding of the agent side of the publishing process.

And for all of you readers who’ve never met Janet in person, she’s actually pretty nice, contrary to what one may assume from her pseudonym. I believe it is her wit instead of her teeth that is truly razor sharp! (and no, she wasn’t interested in my pitch, but it was still my pleasure to meet her)

BTW Terri, it was nice meeting you too. I enjoyed the conversation we had over lunch. The Desert Rose RWA put together a phenomenal conference and the organization is a wonderful resource to writers in Arizona.

Thanks again Janet, you rock!

Not only is the Jaws pic hilarious, but Janet's follow up story at the genre dinner had us in tears from laughter. Many thanks to Janet and Terri!
