Sharks in the Desert!

If you look closely you'll see me lounging on a reef, sunning my sharkskin here in Scottsdale. If you'd like to join me, there's a writing conference coming up. The registration deadline is March 17 (holy moly, that's today!)

*grumbles* stupid warm climes, lush resort and awesome writing chapter that beat me to the punch. I wish I could go too.

Have fun!

Don't worry. I'll sunburn in my own dream world conference tonight.

I'll be there. You don't work with my genre (urban fantasy) so I won't have a pitch appointment with you, but I still look forward to meeting you.

It breaks my heart to miss it. (And it's only a few miles away!) But I'm nursing and can't leave my baby for an entire day yet. Besides, I'm not quite at the 'obtain an agent' stage of my career quite yet.

I'm sure you will love it in Arizona. The weather in March is absolutely wonderful. Just don't come in August when it's 110 degrees in the shade. Writing by the pool is one of my favorite things to do!

You should move these things closer to Sweden.

Alright, might be easier if I just switched and wrote in Swedish but English is much... I just like it, alright? I'd write in French but it takes too long!

Perhaps I just need to scrape together money enough to move to the US and have chance to attend fun conferences, conventions and personally bother agents with my stunning charm (wait... perhaps it's better if I stick to online stuff).

You enjoy it for me too, 'kay skippah?

I live 2 minutes from there, and I'm still trying to justify the expense. Is it worth $250 to get bitten by a shark?

I almost signed up for this one, but I'll be going to the one in Austin in June so I can't afford both. I hope you have a great time. The air is REALLY dry there. Drink loads of water or you'll regret it.

If we haven't been having real sunlight this week, I'd be jealous.

Anyway, enjoy the desert, and the dessert.

I went to this one a few years ago and had a great time. The conference is very well run and organized and assuming things haven't changed, make sure you hit the hospitality suite! Resort is beautiful and you can't beat the weather!

Enjoy! Wish I could be there.

I wanted to go but couldn't swing it this time.

At least the weather is behaving for you. Hope you brought your bathing suit.

@Venus-
You live in Scottsdale and can't afford 250$?
I call shenanigans.

I tried to get a grant, but the RWA of the area didn't have it in the budget. I was forced to sacrifice a goat and beg a loan-shark in order to go see the query shark.
