Remember my ill-fated "trip" to Alaska?
(I'd link to the post but I'm getting used to this new little netbook computer the size of a cowboys' bandana...and about the same weight!)
Well, I MADE IT to Colorado for the writing conference here~~
YAY!!
And guess what! The delightful (and brave!) Megan who volunteered to pick me up, brought a sign with a SHARK on it! Yes we got pictures!
And some guy named Joe Finder turned up. I think he might be a writer? I'll have to google him and see.

Hahaha, that's awesome about the shark :P. Can't wait to see the pics, and congrats on arriving safely!
Awesome! Enjoy the conference. The Shark sign is simply priceless... I hope we get to see the pictures.
Congratulations on arriving in Colorado and not having to experience the sequel to Torture on the Tarmac.
Have a great time.
Wheee! Hope it's a great trip.
Good for you! I was a little afraid that you would get stuck in a plane again. That particular post following yet another day spent trapped with strangers would have been brutal... hilarious but brutal!
Have fun at the conference!
I'm glad you made it to my old stomping grounds safe and sound. Denver is a great city - the sunsets will blow your mind. I can't wait to hear your thoughts on this trip and the conference. And, Joe Finder? Awesome!
When I think about how people as notorious as you use google to research people, I get scared and hope I have nothing out there that will make me look bad in the eyes of an agent. ;)
Have fun in Colorado! ^__^
Hope they imported some polar bears for you. If not, at least some good scotch.
Welcome to Denver! :)
Which bandana?
First Person--Remembering that "ill-fated trip to Alaska" is only part of the reason I'm sitting here feeling like an idiot.
Second Person--You're thinking, what the hell? You vaguely recognize the voice. Then--yep. You peg it. Crap, you think, not her.
Third Person--A dark-haired woman sits before her desk at the Inn, pondering the importance of revisions. She is mortified by an error she's just discovered in a correspondence. Why did she have to press SEND before re-reading? Why? How could she have made such a stupid mistake? She knows points of view. She does. Truly. The woman's been writing for years--but, damn. She always seems to self-sabotage when it comes to letters.
Hmm...
Janet, the Colorado writers are lucky they get to hear you speak in person. Your absence was greatly felt during the conference in Alaska. I'm so glad weather and airlines didn't hinder your plans for this weekend. And I'm thankful for your awesome blog. Hope you have a wonderful time.

Ooh, Joseph Finder! I'm on his Christmas card list. :-)
Congrats on making it to the conference. And on the shark sign!
Too cool! Can't wait for pics!
Update us on how you like your netbook--hubster is thinking up updating my laptop to a netbook.
Have a great time in CO!
Yay! Indeed! Hope it's a blast.
I don't know if my first comment got through, so I'll do it again. I signed up for the conference in Denver in hopes of meeting you, so I'll look for you this afternoon. P.S. My book is titled The God Tablets.
I love the shark sign. They sure know how to tickle your funny bone, huh?
Enjoy the conference and I hope your return trip to NY is uneventful.
Say hi to Rachelle for me!
And try to go see the mountains. I'd recommend Cripple Creek if you want to see mountains and do some gambling. Plus it's not so crowded with tourists.
Wish I could be there.
The Rockies are good for the soul. I'm off for a weekend in the mountains myslef, and I hope you enjoy yours!
Oh, and my laptop is more the size of a wild rag. Can't imagine I'd be able to read the words on one the size of a bandana.
One more thing, I'm between Colorado and Alaska. We haven't got any writer's conferences here, and the only kind of sharks we have here are slew sharks, so, if the mood ever took you, you'd be more than welcome.
Welcome to my city. Enjoy the stay. Do you get to keep the shark?
Well congratulations on making an event, you slacker. Hope you're feeling better.
Totally jealous about your 'puter. I must get one.
Naw, Joseph Finder's not a writer. He's a genius. If you have not read him, google amazon.com, not Finder. Methinks he may be the best working scrivener around.
