Whenever I need a laugh to pull myself out of the agonies of writing, I go to CakeWrecks and Failblog.org. Now I'll have to add There, I Fixed It. Thanks for giving me another excuse to procrastinate. Gotta go, there are some toilets waiting to be scrubbed.
I know why you're drawn to this. This is what some of us do to fix a story that really needs to be razed. We call it revision. You just set your hair on fire and call it a day. :-)
9:00 AM-9:05 AM- Enter office, check e-mail slush pile, pass it all off to the Rejectionist for rejecting.
9:06-11:59: Check out Cakewrecks, I Fixed This, and Fail Blog.
12:00-1:45: 3 Martini power lunch.
1:46-1:50: Check e-mail. Pass it all off to Rejectionist, except for the one featuring a row of smiley emoticons in the subject line. Request partial manuscript.
1:51-3:45: Nap time.
3:46-5:00: Check Google reader for updated blogs. Then go home.
Furious D, you've got it all wrong. She doesn't start work until 1 p.m., because she works until 3 a.m. Now, if that martini lunch were a martini supper, and if you fit about 15 mins of Twitter time around 11 p.m., I think you might have it...
Went through some of the older posts and saw the castles. Thought I would mention as I passed by the TV the other day, I caught a glimpse of a cake made to look like the Leaning Tower of Pisa. It may have been made for a celebrity wedding; I'm not sure. It was pretty. And leaned.
Here in the midwest, cakes shaped like deer, fish, dogs (including kibble bowl) and BBQs are popular. I am submitted a mess of pics to cakewrecks for their consideration. Can I be your friend now? Please . . . Please . . .
I have to tell you: you make me laugh every single day. I never have anything clever to comment about, but I just want to thank you. I love Cakewrecks, and There I Fixed It? Ohmigosh, I scream with laughter! I think I laugh so loud, the people on the opposite side of the campground can hear me.

I think you have personally supplied every feed in my "Cool" folder of Google Reader.

Man Janet... like I needed more reasons to love you. :) Cake Wrecks consistently makes my day.

Cake Wrecks makes me laugh until my face looks ugly.
Janet, you're gonna have to check this out. I actually know the guy with the redneck pickup truck. He lives in Anchorage.

Got to love those mamas of invention. Anyway--
This just confirms how awesome you are, Janet. Cake Wrecks is one of the best blogs on the web.
And I'm nowhere near query stage so I don't consider that to be sucking up.
So is this is how your schedule works? ;)

I'm married to an engineer, so There I Fixed It is like a painful glimpse into my daily reality. (But I love it anyway. The site.)

You find the BEST stuff!
