It's always a good day when the punctuation pugilists at the Abbeville blog suit up for a rousing round of fisticuffs with their sworn arch nemesis the Chicago Manual of Style.
Here's today's round.
For those of you who might not notice, the Abbeville blog has a new url. You'll want to update your linkage or google reader subscription so you don't miss out on any of the fun.

That's hilarious! [sic]
Just kidding. About the '[sic]' part anyway. The post actually is quite funny.
I love those people! Anybody who can make you laugh out loud about grammar wins about a million awesome points.
Thanks for posting the new link, Janet! We've honored you with a link on our sidebar as well.
All the best,
The Abbeville Press Team
I love that blog.
They make grammar funny, which is a rare talent.
Thanks, Janet!
“[sic]” is the most passive-aggressive weapon in the Latin arsenal: a kind of high-toned snicker that translates roughly as “Nice try, moron.”
Love that line...
That's just [sic]...
:)
Sorry, I couldn't resist.
You gotta love people who not only know grammar, but know it well enough to disagree with a stylebook. Well, maybe you don't gotta, but I do. I like to think I'm one of those people. I do check Abbeville out myself once in awhile.
I still want a T-shirt about their fights with their 'formidably orange opponent'...
