I love that at some point, an electrician had these instructions: "You need to move the light above the tank higher... the octopus keeps shooting it out."
The octopus is far more intelligent than most people give them credit for. I think I read in some biology textbook that their brains never stop growing, or learning.
An average sized octopus can easily pass the same sort of problem solving intelligence tests that grey parrots do so well in, and large specimens are in a class of their own.
Strange creature acts. Here, we had a thief stealing all the coins from the coin changer of a car wash. It baffled police for weeks. They finally installed a video cam and caught the perpetrator--a crow; the bird was breaking into the coin box each night and carrying off the (shinys) for nesting.

That's amazing!
I once heard a story of a octopus climbing out of his tank and using a bunch of tanks between his and the one he wanted to be in as stepping stones.
The owners couldn't figure out how he kept getting moved.

He just wants to get back to the big ole blue.
*shark bait, ooh ha-ha*
Is it my imagination or does your assistant's expression change every time I see it?

I saw a documentary where an octopus unscrewed the lid off a glass jar to get at the treat inside.
