I not only survived, I had a great time!
If you love crime fiction, you really want to go to Bouchercon. It's enough fun that even I, curmudgeonly misanthrope who hates to leave NYC, even I have already booked my hotel and registered for the 2009 event in Indianapolis.
Eric Stone had a great time too. Here's his blog post about it with some great pictures of Ben and Alison from Bleak House Books.

glad you got back safe and sound. I'm still trying to decide which writers conference to attend for next year!
It was so cool to meet you face-to-face. It's so funny -- my friend and I were talking during the drive in, "I wonder how we'll ever recognize Janet Reid, since she doesn't have any pictures on the internet." Then, lo and behold, you were working the registration table! Bill Cameron was very cool, too. I bought Lost Dog after meeting him, and I hated having to put it down to come to work!
I'm so glad you had a great time in Baltimore. I couldn't believe how fun the conference was, and how nice everyone seemed. What a great event!
Ooh... Indianapolis is pretty close to me.
Bouchercon is now officially on my to-do list. :)
Bouchercon was great. It was my first big conference. Janet, I enjoyed the opportunity to sit and chat with you.
Glad you made it back safe, although I was disappointed not to see any nekkid postal carrier pics while you were gone.
Hope that snake didn't drink all the whiskey!
:) Terri
