I always love to go to the bookstore the very first day a friend's book comes out. It's much more fun than waiting for Amazon, and it feels like one of those fun stealthy things to do. Mostly I never tell em I do it, cause really, what would you say? "Hey, I get a thrill out of being a flash mob of one"? That's a little off plumb even for me.
This coming Tuesday though, I'm going to be tracking down my buddy Jeff Cohen's new book It Happened One Knife.
If you want to join me, I'll probably be starting at Partners & Crime and working my way around Manhattan if I don't find it there! Lunch is on me; let me know if you're coming!

Yes, I'll be there. Manhattan is east of Oklahoma, right? I might be a bit late. When does his next book come out?
This softer side of you is why I can't quite believe you're Satan's literary agent....
Would you be willing to spring for dinner? Traffic's a bear in Anchorage. Sometimes literally.
Now see, this is ALSO why you're glad to be an NYC-based agent. Going to one of these things at a shopping mall in Dubuque* is probably not good for the soul, unless you're an entomologist passionate about the chirping of crickets.
*Not singling out Dubuque, of course.
