Hiatus Day 1

I happened to be in Seattle the night of Anne Belov’s most recent gallery opening. Here we are in front of one of her beautiful paintings.

Happy Hiatus!

  1. I think this is the first ever picture I've seen of our shark. Wonderful picture!

  2. Janet, may every word you 'reid' bring joy.
May every story fill your heart with wonder.
    Peace to us all.

The world outside my window is blanketed in white. It is quiet. For just a moment chaos is calm. Life is good.

  5. There's a surefire way of getting Anne to appear in your neck of the woods.

Have your local zoo bring in a panda.

I had the fortune of meeting this lovely woman because of the red panda in residency with Calgary Zoo.

    Now, sharks...

  7. Great photo! Nightmusic, I think that's Claire with Anne Belov and not our Sharque.

  10. Hi Everyone! It was a joy to meet up with Anne. I hope you'll all have the opportunity to connect with another Reider IRL at some point. Highly recommended! If you're ever in San Francisco, please give me a shout :-)

  12. Panda and Claire Bobrow two of my favorites Reider types. Glad you two got to meet and even further glad that Claire has such great timing.

  15. Happy reading,Janet! Hope that mountain of requested fulls yields a few gems. It’s fun seeing what other reiders are up to. Anne, congratulations on the gallery show!

  17. How exciting that you got to meet AND at Panda's art exhibition. I hope your art work sold - as Lennon said, the painting in the background is beautiful, so I'm sure it did.

I've been fortunate enough to meet 3 Reiders IRL and 1 on Skype, it's very cool. If I ever make it to the US I plan on upping that number!

  18. I'm thrilled to be pictured here with Claire! It was a wonderful surprise that she was in the area that evening and made the opening so much more fun.

I've met 3 Reiders in real life (Claire-twice! do I get extra credit?) Cecilia, and Kelly Garrett. While I don't live right in Seattle, I'm always happy to show up (schedule permitting) for a book event there, so don't be shy when your book deal takes you to Seattle.

And yes, if your zoo has pandas, I will get there eventually. They don't call me the Panda in
chief for nothing. We can meet at the zoo and I can bore you with everything I know about pandas.

  19. Does that include Australia? We have giant pandas and red pandas =)

  20. LOVE THIS PIC!

Thanks for sharing Claire and Anne. Always happy to see the real life meet-ups :)

  21. AJ...be careful what you wish for. I have several panda-centric friends in Australia and have threatened to visit. Who knows? I could happen.

Also, there appears to be a spam post right after mine, Janet.

  22. What a great pic! Thank you both for sharing it.

I follow Panda/Anne on FB where she occasionally posts pics of/links to her work (in addition to her panda comics, which are delightful) and I am constantly just blown away by what a talented artist she is.

Janet, I hope you're able to make good progress with the reading!

  23. Panda, I am always looking for reasons to visit our National Zoo - and I know they are part of a breeding program for red pandas...
