I check out this site and Query Shark daily to pick up grains of wisdom as a lurker. Soon, I will have enough grains to produce a loaf of bread. For those like me who can still benefit from deep query analysis, there are new queries over at the Query Shark site! Thank you so much for your time and insights on both sites, Janet. Much appreciated!
Ooh, this looks good! Love to see a series with all the books 2Ns listed. (Well, I can do the parents, senior citizens, and worriers on my own, so just the other three.)
I'm happy today. After weeks of research (and a fail by pro computer geeks) my beloved husband recovered the files on my computer!!!!
Many thanks, Janet - as always. <3 I've just bought this book, and am looking forward to sitting by the fireside with it and a glass of hot port tonight. Betsy Lerner's The Forest For The Trees is another beloved fave, and due for a re-read. Bliss.
Ooh, I've got this book. It's on my tottering TBR pile. The books I read alternate between my writing genre (MG), books on writing craft, and the fiction I read for full-immersion enjoyment.
It’s now quarter to eleven at nght in Ireland, fire is blazing, hot port is guzzled. Favouite passage so far:
“It is, I must report, untrue that Manhattan editors spend most of their time having three-martini lunches in elegant restaurants, but breaking bread (and hoisting a glass) with agents is in fact part of the job.”

ReplyDeleteHunting on my kindle, thanks. *as usual*
People always do more than we think they do. Interesting when you find out what that is.
ReplyDeleteI'm especially intrigued by the chapter on developmental editing: Open-Heart Surgery, or Just a Nip and Tuck?

Tough work, but somebody’s gotta do it...
This was definitely not on my TBR list. So, thanks for the tip, Janet!
