  2. I remember that day living up in Seattle...but fortunately the winds were blowing East and it was the folks on the other side of the mountains that had the ash blizzards.

  3. I was in school in central California, two states away and every car had a powdery fine layer of ash months after.

    On the flip side, my geology teacher was beside himself. It was the biggest nerd-gasm of his career.
