Well, fancy meeting you here

The day got away from me again, probably because it was 72degrees and I just had to get outside to enjoy it.  Of course, I came in with a touch of whatever that is when you get too much sun, and had to lie down with a cool beverage.

This is a photo of the HR Department that would like to speak to me about my attendance record!

How's your week going?

(I know I owe you contest results!)

That face! After the suet feeder ran out, that's what I saw glaring in my window and asking to speak to the manager.

It's been ghastly humid and 90+ degrees. In Michigan. Where it was snowing last week. Getting anything done outside means doing it at 6am or it doesn't get done. It's threatening rain now, so I'll have to wait to fill the hummer feeders. Maybe I'll stay inside since the humidity will never go down.

Well, the coffee pot broke yesterday, so today we did the boiled water/pour over method. Quest to buy replacement today.

The neighbors think I'm crazy---I dug up about a 3X3 patch of lawn on the side yard because I noticed my purple potatoes had sprouted and needed a home. That's okay, we'll have a fence soon and I can carry on with all sorts of yard shenanigans.

Quest for a new bank account today--fence guy will give substantial cash discount. Problem is we left our account intact at prior city and have happily used this function called shared banking since. It seems shared banking got thrown out the window with the current who-could-ever-have-imagined-this crisis. And the most we can access is $300, which will buy us about zero fence coverage. So.....

Temperature is in the lovely range of 70's during the day so cold beverages and lounge chairs with books feature prominently.

The tree peonies are blooming.
I’ve got nothing else to report.

We have beautiful sunshine in Scotland- which doesn't happen very often! Hope you are all well.

Heat exhaustion. On the way to a sun stroke. I get that!! Why is HR working when no one else is??

72 sounds glorious. We are baking here in Sacramento at 104. Thank goodness for cool beverages!

Speak not of suet, I am going through a cake about every three hours. The poor little Carolina wrens barely get a chance to get to it. though the Downy, Hairy and Red-bellied woodpeckers almost make up for it.

92 with humidity enough to spawn a tropical storm. Oppressive, now that I have become a Beatles song.

Will you still need me, will you still feed me, now that I'm 64.

Back to trying to find the tricolored heron pics I tool this morning, the new phone screw up ate them, I think. Androids, yech.

Happy birthday, Craig F! When Paul turned 64, apparently his grandchildren phoned him and sang his song to him. He wrote it (with his father) when he was a teen. He thought 64 was sooooo old.

Luralee, tree peonies in the headline are enough to report. Enjoy them!

Sunshine in Anchorage, after a week of rain. My snap peas and onion sets are coming up. Dog is stretched out on the deck, charging her solar batteries which are apparently located in her belly. I'm making my word counts, but without much to spare, while also reviewing the AA for a story coming out at Christmas. I still like it, so that's a plus.

We just took in three goats who were removed from a bad situation. We've never had a single goat here at the sanctuary. Can you believe it? Nearly 30 years of taking in animals in need - a goat has never come through our gate.

Pics on my FB page later this afternoon for anyone who is interested.

Jealous of all of you in hot climes. Next week the birds will have to skate on the bird bath judging by the forecast.

I wrote a 1 page synopsis this week. After such an effort I felt there should be much celebrating, but the family have never had to write a synopsis. They couldn't understand my excitement at writing 500 words when I need to write 75,000 words to write a book. *sigh*

Losing power for half the day today so I plan on spending the time doing the house chores I ignored to write the synopsis. Fun times. At least it is Friday and we have a long weekend ahead.
