Meet Ninja*, aka VelcroCat. (Guess why.)
She was* a street cat who adopted our family during some very sad times — she wandered up to a crowd of us in the yard and allowed us to hold and cuddle her until she was done. Which she demonstrated by means of a triple backflip. After that she stayed around, well and truly a house-bound cat, barring those moments when she would bolt for an open door in the twilight.
She had her hideout under the shed, where she generally held out until breakfast time.
*Ninja has sadly moved on to her next life after a brief illness. A memorial cairn now stands beside her shed, the rocks piled up in such a way that the corner of my eye is certain, every time, that I just saw movement....
