Wallaby!
I'm trying to figure out a way to lay claim to 15% of Wallaby!
Ears and paws seem like about 50%.
Maybe the tail?
Or that face???
I think I'm going to ask writers sending queries to include pictures of their pets.
And prioritize the query reading based on how darling the pets are of course.
Of course, tormenting writers is my super power.

A very Aussie name, but those ears do look transplanted from one of the local roos. What a cutey!
ReplyDeleteA belated congrats to the contest winners. Been out of it after sinus surgery yesterday, head still heavy, so late on the kudos. Nice work all.
ReplyDeleteFor those of us sans pets, how best to supplement our queries? Pics of my bird from a decade ago, his head poking out of my shirt or riding the top of my head? Vidoe of him dancing to the breakfast machine song from Pee-Wee's Big Adventure? Draw a picture? I'm hoping to query by fall, so these are important details.
Puns aside, any advice for not dwelling too much on turning 40 this Saturday? Last year I set some goals to hit before then, and actually managed many of them (a complete draft being one).
What a face! And those ears! *love*
ReplyDeleteI also have no pets. It would be cruel to keep them confined in our flat with our kids. I could draw a picture of my ideal pet? (FYI, it might fly and breathe fire.)
ReplyDeleteForti's turning forty?! Surely there must be something we can do!!
Steve Forti turns 40?
ReplyDeleteA contest in his honor?
He is not allowed to enter because he must be out celebrating instead?
(Of course, we all know he'd enter anyway)
Don't worry about 40, Forti. I'm halfway through the decade and still behaving like a kid.
Direct Quote from Wallaby:
ReplyDelete"Don't touch the ears--they're off-limits. You nutty people always want to play with my ears!"
The only problem with prioritizing by pet is that everyone's pet is the cutest.
ReplyDeleteForti turns forty? I'd suggest something along I-40 ... unless they feels a little redundant.
ReplyDeleteThe tail! The ears!
ReplyDeleteWell, that puts me to the top of the list. Sorry y'all, but Foxy is adorable.

What an intelligent look in those eyes, when you can get past those extremely lovable ears.

ReplyDelete15% of Wallaby? Definitely one ear, at least. Although that'd be less than 15%, so maybe add that gorgeous snout of his as well?
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm guessing he earned his name because of the bouncing he does when excited :D
Oh! And congratulations Steve Forti! I was 40 once :( Here's hoping your head's less heavy by Saturday. And your bird sounded delightful! I've gotten back into birds again - from two budgies while in my teens, to several, 2 years ago and now an aviary and a burgeoning breeding business... sigh. The things we do for our kids!
Late to the game on this one—I was so busy keeping the neighborhood kids away from Wallaby's ears yesterday, I didn't realize Janet had posted his pic. Honored! Thanks for all the kind words about my marvelous pup, who will not be a pup for much longer.
ReplyDeleteWe're already shopping around for a bigger house.
Waitm are you looking for say a giant goofy looking great dane, or something cute like a puppy trying to navigate the mystery of shoelaces?
