Pets on Parade Day Four

Jazz!

This is my carpet monster attacking the chair again.

Jazz joined our family 12 years ago. She was found by my son abandoned in a cardboard box on a commuter train. She was only about five or six weeks old when we got her and had to be fed with an eye dropper to begin with. She flourished and is now the ruler of her domain.

She’s the sweetest cat I have ever known and so well-mannered I can’t believe she’s a cat.

  1. Such a touching coming home story. Jazz is beautiful on the outside and sounds beautiful on the inside, too. Seems that gorgeous fur of hers would be very camouflageishly useful for sneakishly fun purposes.

  2. What a beautiful coat!! And I love that pose. I'm so glad your son found her. I don't understand people who abandon pets like that, but it was very much in the cards that she be yours.

  3. Clever cat, great camouflage - but where is the cat ;).

I don't have a pet, unfortunately :(. Couldn't send a picture like all of you for these hiatuses...

But, I'm still thankful for these hiatus days and 'relaxing' photos, Janet, because, you know, it feels like you've sent us all on holiday and off 'school', not 'having' to come here and learn ;).

I don't mean this in any bad way - it's rather a compliment, cause SO often I see the beginnings of your posts and know I must read them and their comments because they teach me good things.

Sometimes, I don't have so much time and have found myself thinking "Oh no, not again something so useful", ha ha... but then I don't want to miss them either!

I don't have so much time at the moment, so thank you for these fun pictures and not calling me 'into class' for a short while ;).

Hopefully one day I'll/we'll have a puppy! (Sorry DOY - just cause I'd like a dog :/ )

    Katja.

  4. Usually cats don't like bark-a-loungers. Cool cat, beautiful coat.

  5. I agree with K OCD - what fantastic camouflage! I'd be forever tripping over her.
Seriously, though, she looks plump and happy and oh, so sweet. Thanks for posting. I love starting my day with these smiles.

  6. Bark-a-loungers, Hank?! You've got me cracking up!

  7. Who would suspect a Carpet Monster is hiding behind that sweet, innocent face?
Could Jazz be preparing to launch the ejector seat. Watch out, humans!
    She's a gorgeous monster, though :-)

  8. What a beautiful cat and she really does blend in perfectly with the carpet. I'm so glad she found a good forever home. Poor thing.

  9. Jazz is gorgeous. So grateful and appreciative of everyone who steps up for an animal in need.

Katja - "Where's the cat?" HA!
    Hank - HAHA!

  10. I love happy found kitten stories. ;_;

  11. Never seen a cat's fur "pieced" together in this color combination--front to middle to back end. Shows an interesting heritage. (She'd make a good magician's subject: "where's the middle?")

Wish I'd gotten a pic of my Callie in. She's lazing on the sofa opposite me. What a life.

  12. Hi, Jazz! looks like she came right up out of that carpet like a shark.

Glad she has found such a good home.

  13. Is she secretly related to the Cheshire Cat? Because that carpet disappearing act... that cheeky sideways smile... You have to wonder. ;)

    Sweet kitten story.

  14. Amy: Not not this one either, though I wish.

Torbies are beautiful cats and Jazz is a beautiful example of them, what I can see of her.

It is also rather melancholy. We lost Brindle, a torbie, about three weeks ago. Brindle was the first feral who decided that I needed her company.

  15. I love the way you got carpet to match your lovely cat. Jazz looks like a sweetheart. I once had a cat that was orphaned and bottlefed as a kitten, and he was very sweet as well.

  16. Oh, Craig F, I'm so very sorry. We lost one of our dogs this year and no matter when, they take a little piece of your heart with them. *hug*

  17. Craig F: So sorry for your loss of Brindle. :(

Bridle is a great name for a cat. So is Jazz!

  18. Craig: I'm so sorry about Brindle.

  19. Adding my condolences regarding the loss of Brindle, Craig. So sorry she had to depart :-(
