Looking for something?
Riiiight..
Contest results.
Well, clearly I'm a total slacker.
I'm actually working on them now.
Just didn't have them done by 7, so this is a place holder.
We can all wager as to what time they get posted.
Winner gets a prize of course!
List your guess in the comment column.
RESULTS ARE UP!
Let's see if anyone guess 9:18am or even close to it.

The 12th of forever.
ReplyDelete8:34am
ReplyDeleteAs soon as TDOY quits demanding food and takes a nap so you can get back to being a Shark and not WAITRESSSSSSSSJANET!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDelete0922.
ReplyDeleteI'm off to bed. My husband is reading me scary stories about the crocodiles, tiny jellyfish, snakes, fish and spiders that want to kill us as we sail along the Eastern coast of Australia. I'm going to go read something cuddly and snuggly instead. Some Dennis Lehane, maybe.
9:30
ReplyDelete(Not specifying a.m. or p.m., so I have TWO changes to win.)
10:23am
ReplyDeleteI'm excited to read this week's finalists and see how they handled the new rules.
9:39 I hope the dog is the prize.
ReplyDeleteHigh noon! That'll make it a perfect time for me to read over lunch. :)
ReplyDelete11:44. Right before lunch.
ReplyDelete10.05.
ReplyDeleteAmy, don't worry, the tiny jellyfish are also basically invisible so you won't even notice them before they sting you. Wait, was that comforting? ;)
12:01pm. Or whatever f****** time Janet da** well pleases! Who's QOTKU around here, after all?? ;)
ReplyDelete8:14. If Janet is a slacker, I shudder to think what the rest of us are.
ReplyDelete12:34 because that would be cool.
ReplyDelete8:41...just in time for the baby's nap and a break for momma.
ReplyDelete11:38 because frequently that's when Publisher's Lunch (or the version I get of it) hits my inbox.
ReplyDelete9:03 your time; 15h03 mine. I hope the Duchess isn't the prize, one diva in the house is more than enough. (Hubby's words, not mine.)
ReplyDeleteO Great QOTKU, only you know!
ReplyDeleteOh wait, there's a prize. 8:47 am ET.
Today.
ReplyDeleteI'm going with 8:17 am.
ReplyDeleteThis is about impossible. First of all, the beloved doggie picture. It's making my brain mushy. Second, you called it the Up The Ante contest, but Holy Wackamoli those entries? I'd say a few of them upped the Ante with their stories.
ReplyDeleteBut. Just for grins and giggles. 10:00
It's already 8:03 here (same time zone as the Shark - I bask in the reflected glory of that) and it's still the doggie picture so ..... I'll say 10:00 am. But I'm only guessing because you promised a prize, otherwise my answer would be the same as Colin's - the QOTKU posts whenever she jolly well chooses!
ReplyDeleteAnd honestly, Janet -- slacker? PLEASE! *unladylike snort*
Why 12:02pm of course. I don't know about the rest of you, but after reading all those entries, it would appear our conspiring together worked magnificently. We've made it even harder than normal to select a winner! So many wonderful stories!
ReplyDeleteCarolynn wins. Too clever.
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, if Janet is a slacker then I am an actual slug. Seriously, I wish I could be half as productive as our Queen. I would have dozens of best sellers by now.
Sorry if my expletive-ridden comment offended. Here's the clean version:
ReplyDeleteWhatever flipping time Janet darn well pleases! Who's QOTKU around here, after all??
You may laugh, but that's probably what I would have said. You know that's what Janet would say, too. ;)
I broke my rules and entered this one. It was a rough week, and writing keeps me sanest when life hits hard. A stroke in the family. I can't say who it is but, ouf! Luckily we reacted quickly and damage is less than what it might have been.
ReplyDeleteI guess results will come at 13:50 reef time.
I'll guess Sooner. Or Later.
ReplyDelete12.22 pm your time, 18.22 my time.
ReplyDeleteShark-thirty!
ReplyDelete1:22PM Tea Time
At the Cat's meow.
Something to keep us distracted for a few minutes while waiting for the results. The Gotham Workshops newsletter came and they posted about times when dedications were better than the book...I don't agree with that for all of them, but loved them!
ReplyDeleteDedications!
Bummer, I missed. Let's try again: 10:17:39 (I'm precise to the second).
ReplyDelete1:05, because it's inevitable that Something Will Come Up
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteIt was a bright cold day in April, and the clocks were striking thirteen.
Wait, it's May already?
When the bell tolls.
ReplyDeleteor
12:05 Eastern Shark Time
Or
Whichever is closest.
So Dena is going with 1984. Possible as Janet is clearly in possession of Hermione Granger's Time Tuner.
ReplyDeleteOne of the all time great opening lines. Still sends a shiver down my spine.
0700 4 may 2016. If not then the 12th of never.
ReplyDeleteIn other words, take your time. I liked the new format. It seemed to me to make the story a slice of a plot to exploit and not a whole plot that needed to be developed and then expressed in 95 words( 100 less the prompts).
I am sure the new format takes a slightly different perspective to judge properly so take your time.
11:23 ET
ReplyDelete12:47(36seconds) It's your own fault! You've created this madness that's called a community.
ReplyDeleteAngie: Sending good wishes and healing vibes to you and your family. Stroke is awful, and time is critical. I'm glad you got treatment promptly.
ReplyDeleteIn general, people, we should all know the signs of stroke and don't be shy about getting help immediately. It might be a false alarm, but maybe brain cells are dying RIGHT NOW while you're waiting. Call. Now.
Thus endeth the PSA for today. You may now return to your regularly schedules wait for the contest results.
3:14 pm, or Pi o'clock.
ReplyDeleteDing, ding, ding -- subheader nomination! Sherry: "It's your own fault! You've created this madness that's called a community."
ReplyDeleteO Dark Thirty
ReplyDeleteAmy is closest.
ReplyDeleteAnd some of you are really hilarious.
Now, go read
the contest results
Amy, can you get mail?
Can you even get wifi?
The prize patrol may have to deliver in person!
