The shuttle back to Carkoon was brutal. But it was a shuttle back to Carkoon--what do you expect? Kale chips, lima bean dip, and "50 Shades of Stegosaurus" as the in-flight movie. Ah, well. Life can't be Bouchercon all the time...
Take your time. It's not like any of us are on the edge of our seat to hear all about the Great Bouchercon Escapade. Oh no. Our lives are exciting enough without living through yours.
Colin was supposed to negotiate his release from Carkoon. If he was successful, there might have been hope for me to one day escape. Still I am pleased Her Sharky Majesty has safely returned home.
Colin, she is a sneaky one. While you were gone a tofu factory opened on your property line. Kale tofu is a horror from which there is no return. Ah well. Back to the evil librarian tales. It seems it is all I am able to write on Carkoon. My heart felt story of a boy and his pet marmoset caused the Carkoonian Literary Authority to lock me in Kudzu Prison. At least it's shady.
2Ns: I did have the opportunity to examine your latrine work not long after I got off the shuttle. Who-knows-how-many-hours of warp speed with lima bean dip in your stomach has consequences, you know.
For my #2 and #3 sons, all day on the train, with or without WIFI, would have been heaven. I am confident that I speak for them when I say you must have had a wonderful trip!

I hope you had a wonderful trip, though I know you'll be exhausted for a day or two. I wouldn't worry about the blog. You know how the minions are, toss them crumb and they're busy for hours if not days.
When I went to the workshop near Seattle, I chose to fly to Vancouver, BC, then take the train between Vancouver and the Tukwilla station. It was my first time on a train. I was looking forward to whiling the time on the internet... but even though the train's wifi showed strong, anytime I tried to connect, my tablet said the signal was too weak. So no wifi, either way. That was okay, because I was so tired - both ways - that I slept a lot, but it would have been nice to be connected. Less worrying about accommodations at the destination.
Colin: I would have thought you'd be negotiating your own release.
EM: If I remember correctly, you're still only there temporarily (unlike Colin). Don't suggest that the QOTKU do more than she does already, try to stay away from evil librarians (literally and figuratively), and you may get back again. Although I hear it's warm there in the winter...
Colin, don't feel bad. Beer and Her Sharkiness would charm me senseless. Now you just have to deal with my envy. I hope you write a detailed blog about your experience.
When I ran across Janet at WD conference, I did not get a chance to introduce myself. Her query workshop was directly before my pitch session. I would totally buy her a drink if I ever happen upon her again, and never mention my exile in Carkoon.
