The "birds" are coming for Sunday dinner. The cat must know and is on watch.
"Birds" = kids. Big kids now, and kicked out of the nest. I mean, off on their own. Sunday dinner...pork loin, scalloped potatoes, fried green beans (you must try this!), collard greens, rolls...peach cobbler.
Off to cook! Have a great Sunday all, and especially YOU, Ms. Janet. You deserve it!
I am enjoying the brilliance of morning sun and a breeze tugging at the canopy of yellowed maple leaves. Oak leaves are starting to change color and a sole cardinal poses amid darting chickadees.
I am so glad your cat is safely indoors.
yum, donnaeverheart, maybe I can pass as one of your adult children.
Hank (if I may call you Hank), how did you guess!? He charts in his sleep now. And this is his favorite afghan for it - very snuggly and good for thinkin' in.
I got several blurry shots of him climbing the bookcase my dad and I built before he died, will share those with Janet so she can use those in future. Too apropos!
He's currently enjoying a lovely Sunday brunch, and says hi to all.
Must be nice, it has already hit 90 here. We might be getting a three hour cold front in a few days but it looks more like wishful thinking by the weather prognosticators.
LynnRodz, Goss has quite the thing with our hostess. I am only grateful she shares his sweetness with everyone, as it is more than I can absorb and it's a joy to share him here. He really is the most astonishingly nice little fellow, I'll never deserve him (or his sister Penelope the puppy dog).
Sunday dinner has been wiped out! @Lisa...I wish I could have you over...we'll have to settle for virtual and therefore, I'm sending you a virtual plate of Sunday dinner... and bowl of peach cobbler with a dollop of whip cream.
My oldest daughter, her husband and her purrfect baby moved back to town today, they bought a house, a fixer-upper we've been fixing up. This has been a great Sunday. All the family helping family. It doesn't get much better than that. I feel like the kitty in the pic, eyes half closed, tired and content. It's been a good day.

Tea and lemon tarts at Ladurée, it can't get more purrfect than that! (Best lemon tarts in Paris, btw. Yes, I've tried them all over the years.) Have a great Sunday, Janet.
ReplyDeleteIs that Gossimer, charting feline prose.
ReplyDeletethree blind mice....

ReplyDeleteDLM, I think your Gossimer has become quite the well-known celebrity here on Janet's blog. As soon as I saw the photo, I knew it was him.
ReplyDeleteDLM;
ReplyDeleteBy all means, call me Hank.
Scaling a bookcase , love the imagery.
I think we all scale bookcases as we work on our craft.
Would love to see a photo of him ascending a bookcase your dad made. very nice!
