Amazingness

I found it here

I think we might need a contest along these lines, don't you?

  1. Yes! Extreme awesomeness.

  2. Ms. Mafi is nothing short of brilliant.

I would love to try that, though all I can see from where I'm currently sitting is a tall stack of my MILs Harlequin romances. They're creating a somewhat . . . earthier poem.

  3. If you have a contest along those lines I concede because I cannot approach the opposing shores of that level of awesome.

  4. Oh, definitely! It'd be even cooler if the titles had to be books that you own.

  5. Wow that is incredible.

  6. Yay! Always in favor of contests!

    So what shall it be?

Write a poem using only the titles of the Sharky One's clients' books?

    or

Describe your WIP using only the titles of published novels?

    or

Predict the next "it" creature (vampthingy, merthingy, werethingy) and write a dedicated ode using existing titles about said thingy?

    or

Ode to the QueryShark... using only oceanic titles?

  8. Yes, what a great idea, and I like the caveat of using one's own books, but as my free time is vanishing INTO THIN AIR until I get all my parent-teacher interviews done on Friday, can I BEG FOR MERCY?

As Roger Rabbit used to say, P..P...Please.

  11. So disappointed. When I read the title of this post I thought it was about me. (I also believe in unicorns and that Sarah Palin is super-smart.)

Oh, and the poem? Like you, it's awesomely awesome.

  12. Composing something from our own books would not only be original, but it would also be a personal tribute to the authors we love. Great idea.

  13. The moment I saw this I looked at my book shelf.

The Georgette Heyer books almost make a poem as they stand and the fantasy and crime shelves are not far behind.

I never noticed. Thanks for showing me.

  14. I have to leave another comment:

If you do a contest, please don't make it books we own. Some of us only "own" what we can borrow from friends, what's in the local library or what's available through Project Gutenberg.
