Because As...Karen McCoy, are you a Shakespeare fan? Because Ashland is known for it's Oregon Shakespeare Festival. They have excellent productions and an interesting mix of plays (not everything is by Shakespeare). Ashland also has a charming downtown and a giant, beautiful park (Lithia Park). <br /><br />Last time I visited, we stayed at a place with an in-room hot spring tub.
