It ran under our porch and could not be coaxed out with tuna fish or milk. It was almost Halloween, and stray black cats do not fare well that time of year. Our neighbors’ name was Crane, so I tried to get them to adopt it. With a name like Crane, you could name it Ichabod, I said. But that didn’t sway them even an inch. Our cat would not tolerate another cat, they said. I reminded them we also had a cat, a Maine Coon named DiDi who was not the sociable type. They just shook their heads no and that was that. So I told DiDi she had better be nice to little Ichabod. He hid behind the radiator in the back room and gradually emerged over several days. DiDi tried to pick fights with Ichabod, and he fought back. He lived to be nearly 20 years old, the last three with diabetes. DiDi lived to be 20 as well. She was a fighter to her last breath.Kittyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09868642232827730189noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17040756.post-1892418075205919782019-11-22T09:39:53.696-05:002019-11-22T09:39:53.696-05:00Ah!
