  1. Ugh! So sorry. Hope you're feeling better soon. Try a hot toddy. You like scotch :) After all, in this case, it's medicinal and also 5pm somewhere...

  2. Feel better soon, Janet. I blame your encounter with the Hotel California. (But at least you got to leave.)

  4. Revenge of the Revels is like a Star Wars franchise no one wants to see...or experience. Feel better soon!

  8. Those damned historians can really sneak up on you, they seem so staid and sane, for a while.

    Hope you feel better soon.

  9. there's been a variety of colds, flus, etc. sweeping my area and I have a cough that is....I guess just a cough? "probably viral", the PA said, and sent me back to work. Rest up! Lots of fluids! Read some fun things!

  10. Hope you feel better soon!

Have a good writing day, everyone else. Try to stay off Twitter (I just said that to myself).

  11. Aw, I hope you feel better soon. Be careful out there, everyone! I swear I didn't used to be :-) a germophobe, but my winter gloves don't come off in any public spaces now from September through May. I'm tempted to take up wearing really wide hoop skirts to keep the coughers at bay, but they have proven impractical on public transport.

  12. I first read "Under the water" in the headline. This happens quite a bit to me... also that I'm unable to hear numbers correctly when it's the other way around in German (89 or 98 are the worst). Maybe I should start worrying about this... :/

On the other hand, maybe it's a 'positive thing'... at least you AREN'T under the water but just by the edge of it. Phew!

    Get well very soon!

While I wonder why being under the weather actually means being ill/unwell. Hmmm.

  13. Oh no! Feel better soon. That's exactly why I don't go out in public!

I'm sort of half-joking but not entirely.

  14. Oh, no! I hope you're feeling better. Hopefully, you got to stay in today -- it's a good day for that!

I get a sinus infection and laryngitis pretty much every year right after the Writer's Digest Conference. I blame it on being in overly air-conditioned close quarters with nearly 1,000 people and a nervous lack of sleep (I live downtown and don't stay at the hotel, so each morning commute up there is always an adventure!).

  15. Ergh, post-conference lurgy is always the worst. It's like it feeds off the good time energy. The better the conference, the worse the germ.

    Feel better soon!
