Happy Sunday!

I thought this list of words that have a different meaning if you're a writer on BuzzFeed was pretty funny.

Which one is your favorite?

  1. I can't choose! Loved "Protagonist" (what it means when you're a writer: You.) and "Reader" (what it means when you're a writer: An unseen enemy, impossible to understand and therefore to be feared.)

  2. There were so many good ones, it was hard to choose. Like Stacy I liked the Protagonist one, but I'm going with #22, the Draft. That one made me laugh out loud! Have a great Sunday everyone!

  3. These are all great. Draft is too true to be funny, so I'm going with Writing and Friends. I'm writing right now, and my WIP has lots of friends in it. Happy Sunday.

  4. The two for Netflix/Research made me laugh out loud.

23-Editing is too real to be funny at the moment, but someday I will like this one too.

  5. The first, "Writing" -- is spot on. It's what I'm supposed to be doing now.

"Editing" was too close to true to be funny. It's where I'm at right now.

  6. I rather liked the "online reviewer" one. I had one of those little trolls when I was a kid. My brother cut its hair off. Maybe that's why they're out for revenge now...

  7. I like that they led in with David Duchovny's character from Californication, but he wasn't a number.

Not even as a writer, but as a reader/library employee..."best seller". So many best sellers come through my hands which I can't even countenance reading. I love them, though. Somebody said "yes" to those authors, again and again. Somebody will say "yes" to me.

  8. I'd have to say #20. Not that I feel that way, but I've known plenty of people who believe popular success (in any endeavor, for that matter) must require a disregard for quality. After all, if a lot of people like it, it can't be very good, can it? :)

  9. Yeah, I'm somewhere in the middle at #15 Story juice.

It's not my fault the region where I live excels in it.

Damn adult red juice boxes that come in wooden six packs....meh!

    Yeah, as usual Cheers Hank

  10. #28 was by far the best. Kill it with fire. Online reviewers are a scary thought, but those trolls have always creeped me out.

  11. Oh, no question,. Editing. "What it means when you’re a writer: Crying into your keyboard because everything is shit."
    Oh yes indeed.

  12. Too funny, I can't pick a fav, it depends on what time of day it is.

The utter pretentiousness of the first layer of comments is also pure freaking gold.

  13. #AmTweeting. Because it's true.

  14. Lance, that's why I had to laugh. I could just picture myself giving my finished ms to someone and after their harsh critique, I could hear myself saying, "Well, this is my first draft, you know!" Sometimes, we do have to laugh at ourselves. It makes life easier, especially when I do a lot of "editing" (crying into my keyboard because everything is shit!) It happens more often than I care to admit.

Keep your comments succinct. Any comment that runs longer than 100 words is generally too long.

If you're commenting more than three times a day, it's too much.
