Thank you for the link....it is nice to know that other writers slog through the same swamp. Now I'm off to write....instead of drinking that glass of wine.
This was depressing to me. I am that middle-aged writer with the time-sucking job and the family, except there's no agent to tell me someone's interested. All I have is the yearning. And the stories.
Makes me feel better and worse. But I think more people should know that that story actually qualifies as a success story.
It's a cycle of sadness and frustration, and the whole thing is like trying to catch a bird with your bare hands. Probably gonna fly away before you even get close, but maybe, if you keep trying, someday you'll get close enough to get pooped on.
Keep your comments succinct. Any comment that runs longer than 100 words is generally too long.
If you're commenting more than three times a day, it's too much.
Civility is enforced. Spelling/grammar mistakes may be pointed out ONLY in the blog post itself, not in any of the ensuing commenter's contributions.
If your comment doesn't show up, it's most likely that Blogger ate it. Try posting again using a GoogleID. (comment moderation is on only for older posts)
A writer is somebody for whom writing is more difficult than it is for other people. - Thomas Mann

ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how something can be both inspiring and incredibly bleak at once.

ReplyDeleteyep, that was miserable. Back to my book...
ReplyDeleteI try to avoid the depressing aspect by telling myself I don't mind so much if I'm not a successful author because, hey, I love to write!
