Sam Beckett is a professional time traveler. He never made it home. Marty McFly is caught up in a situation. Both do the right thing, but Sam's the one with the real load on his shoulders. Marty's got the better theme song though. Doc Brown and Admiral Al Calivicci should go drinking together.
I got it right away! Loved both Marty and Sam. Two of my favorite actors, and teen crushes. I always thought Scott Bakula had to be an imcredible actor to play all the different characters he played while simultaneously always being Sam at heart.
I've seen the movies multiple times and every episode of the show at least once, but I am a sci-fi/fantasy junkie. That genre has only been able to hook the mass female audience recently. (There were few in the 1980's. Yeah, I know, you were the one girl we saw at the Star Wars party.) McFly and Becket helped paved the way along with Potter and Lost. Now women are watching Fallen Skies and Dr. Who? Good job my fellow Geeks! You finally won the ladies' hearts. (Pushes up taped glasses.)

I loved Quantum Leap as a kid - the concept was just so cool - but it has to be one of the worst endings in TV history.

ReplyDeleteTwo great loves juxtaposed together. However, Quantum Leap has the saddest ending ever, so I find it hard to get myself to re-watch the series.

ReplyDeleteI loved Quantum Leap, too, but I moved to no-TV-land before the series ended. As far as I'm concerned, it ends any way I want it to.
