Avatar is rockin'. Our glasses out in Texas looked more like Potter glasses than these giant bug shield glasses in NY.

Avatar was okay, as unoriginal, cliché-addled nitwittery goes, but those glasses are rockin'.
ReplyDeleteLove the glasses, you should keep them to make a fashion statement. That statement would be "I need psychiatric help!" but it's a statement nonetheless.
ReplyDeleteAs for Avatar, I swore off going to see it when I joked to a friend that I could map out the whole plot and characters from a few production stills. Then I turned out to be right.
My brain doesn't get 3-D... I'm blind in right eye, true. Now for a writer exercise, please, someone tell me what 3-D is like. (Does it look like comic book heros busting the frames of their pictures)???

I saw it for the second time on Friday. I will own it if the DVD is in 3D as well. I don't think I can watch it in standard format.
ReplyDeleteI don't care about the simple plot or anything, I loved it! I've been considering taking a train an hour out of the way to go see it in in imax, but it looks like I don't have the funds at the moment. Beautiful movie, beautiful story, and just overall an experience to watch.

I thought of Fern Gully, too! And I loved that movie as a kid, which might be partly why I loved Avatar so much haha.

ReplyDeleteHow come when Patrick is in town you give him those glasses and take him to Avatar, and when I'm in town (and I live here) you give me the same glasses and make me do spot-welding. I KNEW THOSE GLASSES WEREN'T SAFE FOR WELDING. Plus they made the sparks look like the were *coming right out at me*.
ReplyDeleteLoved the movie but those glasses hurt my ears and nose! I guess they don't want anyone stealing them. Avatar parallels so many stories of indigenous people (with the exception of the whole winning thing) It was a very moving film.
ReplyDeleteI'm FINALLY going to see Avatar this weekend in the IMAX theater...I had no idea how stylish I would be looking. Hmmm...perhaps I'll take a camera as well and take a photo of my unsuspecting friends!

Those glasses look like the they belong on a geriatric movie producer while he sips gin & tonic on his patio overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
ReplyDeleteI kept my glasses, too. Mine look like Roy Orbison glasses. Maybe they'll work when we get 3D television & DVDs.
