  2. Beat the Reaper is my book of the year!

Mainly because it was the first crime book I read that made me go "Okay, this is what I need to do." Not to mention inspiring me to write first person, although Jeff planted to seed when I read TEC the previous October.

  3. I've got to agree about Ghosts of Belfast. By coincidence I re-read it last night, and it kept me up half the night again.

  4. Great timing. I just got the "Ghosts of Belfast" last night and forty pages in, I am liking it so far! Based on title alone(best way to get my attention usually) "Beat the Reaper" is now on my short list to read next.

"This Wicked World" by Richard Lange (debut) was quite good, and deserves a spot on my 2009 Sox Knocker list.

"Shantaram" was by far, the best thing I read in 2009.

    HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!

  5. Thanks for the nod, Ms Reid, and a Happy New Year to you. And thanks to Gary too for the kind words - I hope to see you both next year in San Francisco!

  8. Finished "The Ghosts of Belfast" WOW! Could not put it down. I kept thinking that it would make one hell of a movie.
