Yes! Yes! I have taken to doing this on MLK day. Today I read the wikipedia article about it. Apparently, he ad-libbed the end . . . the "I have a dream" refrain. Can you imagine?
My husband can recite it word for word. He did a paper on it in high school. Paul had to recite the speech to a packed auditorium. He said at first people where shocked, here was this white kid up there giving the speech with the same heart. By the end it was a standing ovation. We all have something to gain from this, no matter the color of our skin. (Hugs)Indigo
It's a fantastic speech, and I've started watching it every year, too. Indigo, how wonderful that Paul had the chance to recite it. It truly does speak to people of all backgrounds, and is every bit as relevant today as it was when MLK gave it in 1963.
